Systems Management

Enterprise Systems Management:

  • Automate Disk Clean-up processes - with review and approval process. Disk space clean-up is a time-consuming task, with repetitive automated research and clean-up processes. Aegis can detect the need for clean-up, alert the operations team, automate the clean-up process, whilst interlocking with your change control process.
  • Maintenance mode operation. Systems management tools provide "maintenance mode" to allow server management to take place without affecting SLA stats collection. Aegis ensures that this process takes place and full-operation is restored following the specified period.
  • Automate routine maintenance, such as rebooting servers. This process safely and consistently reboots servers, when commanded, scheduled or in reaction to events such as a breach of memory thresholds. NetIQ Aegis waits for user sessions to end and redirects traffic to other servers to prevent service interruption.
  • Identify Change-Induced Incidents. When events or incidents are registered in systems management or ticketing systems, an automatic lookup in change monitoring tools is initiated by NetIQ Aegis to assist in determining if a change is the cause of the problem.
  • Prioritize and Resolve Events Based on Impact to End Users. This process raises the visibility or priority of specific events when correlation rules determine that end users are impacted, determined through end-user experience monitoring.

Security and Compliance Management:

  • Monitor Privileged User Behaviour. Privileged users represent a significant threat to organizational security that is especially difficult to manage. Automating the process for the detection and investigation of actions by privileged users ensures that the risk of a data theft is reduced through more rapid and consistent response. The automated process will provide better information, more rapidly, to decisions makers, while ensuring that the event is better documented for subsequent forensic or audit analysis.
